The festival of Holi is primarily very joyful and energetic. However, people (especially women) face a lot of harassment during the festival in the name of “Bura Na Mano, Holi Hai!”. Forcing to apply colour on women leading to inappropriate touches is rampant in both rural and urban India.

To shed light on the lowness of such acts, Ghadee (घड़ी) detergent brand came up with a television commercial which surely hit the culprits hard.

Watch the video:

The television commercial highlights this aspect in a realistic and relatable fashion. Every woman can see herself in the situation of the protagonist. The brand urges all women to not hold back and instead stand up and resist anyone who tries to apply colour on her without her consent.

The ad beautifully syncs with the brand’s message #SaareMaelDhoDalo, as it subtly suggests that the dirt ( colour) on the clothes can easily be washed (using Ghadee). This commercial has been conceptualised by ADK Fortune and executed by Chrome Pictures. It presently has a view count of over 6.1 million on Youtube alone. Evidently, it has touched people’s hearts and is surely a favourite of many.

On another note, below is a list of other beautiful ads which were made for the festival of colours.

  1. MP Tourism — Vrindavan Holi

  2. Parachute Hair Oil — Khulke Khelo Holi

  3. Bajaj Discover — Lathmar Holi

  4. Big Bazaar — Ghulenge Khusiyon Ke Rang Hazaar

  5. Idea — South Indian Holi
