2. Collecting and Using Your Data
2.1. Types of Data Collected
The Extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's
built-in chrome.storage.local API. No data is ever transmitted to our servers
or any third party.
Data stored locally includes:
-
Google OAuth access token — obtained via Google Sign-In to authenticate
Calendar API requests on your behalf.
-
Cached calendar events — a temporary local copy of your Google Calendar
events, refreshed every 10 minutes to keep the display up to date.
-
Calendar visibility preferences — which of your calendars are shown or
hidden in the bar.
-
Layout preference — whether you have chosen the horizontal bar or vertical
sidebar mode.
We do not collect or store:
-
Your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information
-
Your browsing history or search queries
-
Any website content you interact with
-
Any login credentials or passwords
2.2. Google Calendar Integration
Connecting your Google account is required for the core functionality of
Persistent Calendar Bar. The Extension uses OAuth 2.0 via the Chrome Identity
API to request access to your Google Calendar data. You will be prompted to
authorize the following scopes:
-
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly — to read your calendars
and events.
-
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events — to allow you to create new
events directly from the Extension.
You can revoke this access at any time through your Google Account settings or
by using the Disconnect button within the Extension, which will remove the
stored token and clear all cached event data from your device.
2.3. How Do We Use Your Data?
All data used by the Extension is stored locally on your device and is never
transmitted to us or any third party. The Extension uses this data solely to:
-
Display your Google Calendar events in the persistent calendar bar overlay.
-
Allow you to navigate between days and time windows.
-
Allow you to create new calendar events.
-
Remember your display preferences across sessions.
This data is not used for analytics, advertising, profiling, or any purpose
beyond the Extension's core calendar display functionality.
3. Sharing Your Data
3.1. Retention of Your Data
We do not retain any data. All data is stored locally on your device and is
never transmitted to us. Cached event data is automatically cleared when you
disconnect your Google account from the Extension.
3.2. Transfer of Your Data
As we do not collect or store your data on our servers, there is no transfer
of your personal data to any other location by us.
3.3. Delete Your Data
You can delete all data stored by the Extension at any time by:
-
Clicking the Settings icon in the Extension and selecting Disconnect to
remove your OAuth token and clear all cached data.
-
Uninstalling the Extension, which removes all locally stored data from your
device.
-
Managing or revoking access through your Google Account settings at
myaccount.google.com/permissions.
3.4. Disclosure of Your Data
We do not disclose your data to any third parties. As we do not collect or
store your data on our servers, there are no circumstances under which your
data would be disclosed by us to any other party.
3.5. Business Transactions
If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we will
provide notice before any data handling practices change and update this
Privacy Policy accordingly.
3.6. Law Enforcement
Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose your data
if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public
authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
3.7. Other Legal Requirements
The Company may disclose your data in the good faith belief that such action
is necessary to:
-
Comply with a legal obligation
-
Protect and defend the rights or property of the Company
-
Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
-
Protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public
-
Protect against legal liability
3.8. Security of Your Data
All data used by the Extension is stored locally on your device using Chrome's
secure storage APIs. We do not transmit your data over the internet to our
servers. Your calendar data is fetched directly from Google's servers to your
device using your authorized OAuth token. While we strive to use commercially
acceptable means to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100%
secure.
4. Miscellaneous
4.1. Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly
collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided
us with data, please contact us.
4.2. Links to Other Websites
Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us,

Policy. You can revoke access to your Google Calendar data at any time through your Google Account settings or by disconnecting within the Extension.
